I'm thinking of doing some appetizer specials for the "big game" AKA the "super bowl" and I was thinking about doing a half off during the 1st quarter & 4th quarter or just during the 1st quarter or just special platters.  Any thoughts on this, pros, cons?

I've already had the ad out, but I had just listed appetizer specials and I was getting questions as to what specials I would be offering.  I had planned on a few different platters of apps, but as I read my competitors ads they are doing half off apps, $2.00 beers, etc.  We are offering $3 pints, $4 22oz, $11.00 pitchers, a round of $.50 pints if the defense scores and a $.5 round of shots If a lineman scores.

I am now doing a second push of emails and signage and wanted to maybe intice more guests with the appetizer deals.

Thanks for any advice,

The Edge... there is no honest way to explain it because the only people who really know where it is are the ones who have gone over.  -HST

One restaurant I worked at would set up a table of hotdogs and fixings. Like last post mentioned drinks made up for the food. I wonder how many of the folks then had dinner in the restaurant if not to full on dogs. The owners were happy with the results.

What have you done in the past?  Was it successful?  Will you have a crowd regardless of discounts?  If not, then don't discount too deeply.  I only discount when I know it's going to be slow.

We're closed on Sundays.  So I'm gonna skip church and be passed out by half time.
