So, who's business is up this year?

This has been a good year for us versus last year, sales wise. Just getting through that nightmare that was 2008 made us leaner and meaner, and better positioned to take advantage of increased sales to do things like, ohh i don't know, pay the tax man or get current with our vendors.

So who out there is doing better this year than last?

Good to see you back on the forum Jason.

We are doing well this year also.
Lots of marketing, staff training, and guest engagement is the recipe.

Sadly we are doing better. Not because I make incredible kid friendly food but because we have a plethora of new applicants for free and reduced meals. I haven't seen a change yet.

I love Kaff's line, too.  Things are going great.  I bought my 3rd restaurant a couple weeks ago.

Thanks! It's good to be back, thanks to David fixing my account. Marketing is taking up more and more of my time now too. I've outsourced my email list and birthday and anniversary club to this company mUrgent. It's costing me $179 a month, but they are sending out my emails, and doing the graphic design for it too. For me, it's worth it, since I can stay nearly hands off, and just approve proofs they send me. We have also partnered up with Eggland's Best, doing events with them like last weeks Heart Walk. We served 800 people our signature Toast Omelet, and tried to look innocent when people look at our take-out menu and saw Oreo cookie pancakes topped with hot fudge and marshmallow fluff. Everything in moderation, right?

Ya Debbie, I think I finally went off the deep end.  It is 6 blocks from my other two places.  This will be a cowboy theme, comfort food type place, open lunch and dinner.  The name we have chosen is "Rockin' Ys' Restaurant".....for Yvonne and Yvette.  The logo is like a cattle brand with the rocker base with 2 Y's above.  The place used to do a huge business so it will be a challenge to turn it back around.  It is in an absolutely perfect location and that is the biggest reason we bought it.  Gotta have something to stay busy.

Amazingly enough, and thankfully, we are also up this year. For instance, last night we did 7925.00 and last year, the same day, we did 7255.00. This has been about the spread all year. We are in a great location and the area is growing. We don't have a lot of competition and of course, our food and service is wonderful!!!

Our construction company , on the other hand, is suffering. Doesn't anyone want to build a new house?
